About Mary

Mary Comtois is a music teacher and classical pianist.  She has 30 years of teaching experience and 40 years of playing experience.

Over the years, Mary has taught private lessons and classes to hundreds of students.  She currently offers private lessons for 17 different instruments and voice.  Mary has created and taught music classes for institutions from pre-school through university levels.  Most recently, she has started music programs for three local schools simultaneously, including creating and teaching tailored curriculum for each school.  Please see the

Mary is a pioneer who constantly creates and innovates in her fields.  For example, Mary has developed a very unique method of private teaching, and has created Christian method books which utilize this method.  She has also created and taught various music classes and lectures/workshops for schools, music organizations, and her own independent classes.  In addition, she has also worked with local churches to help them start worship teams and children's worship programs.


Mary loves technology and incorporates it in her teaching.  She was one of the first people in the world to offer live private music lessons online, and she still teaches online today.  
 
As a pianist, Mary is a free-lancer who specializes in Christian, avant garde, french impressionist, and classical/opera vocal music.  She has played with a variety of musicians including free-lance NYC instrumentalists, broadway singers, and top singers at the Metropolitan Opera.  Mary enjoys solo and collaborative playing opportunities and recording.  She has a home recording studio and has released several CDs on her own label.  

About Doug

Doug is a tenor with a wide range of experience.  He was classically trained by top singers and professors from The Metropolitan Opera, Eastman School of Music, and the University of Iowa. 

Most of Doug's experience has been in Christian music.  He has been a soloist, praise and worship singer, choir member, quartet singer, barbershop singer, and back up singer.  He was a founding member of The Freedom Quartet of Orlando, FL.  The quartet made several recordings, and toured the eastern US for a number of years.

In addition to singing in churches, Doug's professional experience also includes singing lead roles in operettas and musicals, soloing with orchestras and choirs, and singing as a member of the Voices of Liberty at Disney World and the Orlando Opera Company. 

Doug has extensive experience singing in a variety of venues, including: churches, Christian television and radio stations, concert halls, sports arenas, Disney World, convention centers, and more.
